At the time, I though I was just making a nice composition of abstract shapes. Shortly after working on these I realized that the ads were obviously reflecting the imagery I saw on 9/11, and I scrapped the design concept. Looking back, it amazes me how closely these images reflect the images I saw on television — the iconic images that are so familiar to all of us.
I have always been curious if this type of imagery subconsciously worked itself into the work of other designers and artists.
