I am Aran Johnson a California born resident of the San Francisco Bay Area.
I currently spend most of my time working as an 8th Grade Associate Teacher. As a part of this job, I get to employ my wide range of skills in support of many of our students’ special projects throughout the year. Particular highlights for me are our two, week-long camping trips, a talent show, a year end drama production, a Halloween haunted house, and a yearbook. I also teach Algebra in this role.
My path to education was circuitous. I graduated UC Berkeley with a BA in the Practice of Art where I was drawn especially to collaborative and performance art. I turned my interest in collaborative artworks towards the creation of websites. I spent most of the 2000s making websites, but after the birth of my first child, I switched gears to become a stay-at-home parent for our two kids.
I loved the experience of taking care of my kids and as they entered school, I gravitated towards working as an educator so that I could continue to take part in a job that provides me with amazing opportunities to lead children through the same sorts of collaborative creative projects that have brought me so much enjoyment in life.
A note on the domain name.
I originally purchased the Aranworld.com domain name to use as a portfolio website in the year 2000. It has taken various forms throughout the years.
I have no connection to the Italian cabinetry company that once went by the name Aranworld.
